An evergreen shrub with beautiful purple-red ellipse shaped leaves. Produces very small yellow-green flowers followed by reddish winged capsules. Is frost tender so requires protection in cold winters or frosty conditions. Its beauty makes it worthwhile however. A sun lover, preferring moist but well drained soil.
