This clump forming perennial has attractive feathery, fern-like foliage, which unfurls in spring, followed by full, puffy plumes of soft pink flowers (late spring-summer). It blossoms earlier than other Astilbes, making it a lovely variety for early summer colour. It should be planted in part shade in a moist soil.
