More commonly known as the Lenten Rose, (even though not a rose at all!) this hardy perennial (height and spread 35cm/1ft) can provide a lovely splash of impressive colour in the winter months, as an abundance of red cup shaped flowers appear from January until the end of spring. Its attractive glossy evergreen foliage also provides year round colour. It should be planted in partial to full shade in a moist soil.
