This shade loving Hosta has wonderfully handsome foliage - deep blue, heart shaped wrinkled leaves that immediately illuminate a dark, shady spot. Excellent in a small garden or as a large container plant, and contrasting well with other shade lovers like ferns, it also produces spikes of lavender blue flowers in June. Tasty to slugs, use wool pellets to avoid an attack, and shelter from cold, dry winds to avoid losing too much moisture. Likes a fertile well drained soil.
