A distinct class of perennial, the delphinium is a tall, and rather grand plant, with blue flowers – quite an unusual site in this family of plants. This variety is a hybrid, which plays on the impressive delphinium height (1.5m/4.9ft). It produces beautiful tall spikes of royal violet flowers with white centres during the summer, and if the main flower stalk is removed just after flowering, should produce secondary blooms late summer/early autumn. It should be planted in a sunny sheltered spot that will protect it from the wind.
