This is a hardy, dwarf species (height and spread only 30cm/1ft) that can create a mass of colour in a garden border. Its short three pronged purple flowers sit on attractive serrated foliage from May to September, making it a wonderful summer colour variety. It should be planted in a well drained soil in full sun ideally.
