A hardy, spreading perennial (height 45cm/1.5ft, spread 30cm/1ft) with slender red stems and bright, green leaves, with wavy margins, tinted red in autumn. It produces brilliant, rich blue flowers August to September, and should be planted in a sunny position in a moist but well drained, moderately fertile soil.
