More commonly known as St John’s Wort, this is an upright, hardy shrub with aromatic dark green leaves and clusters of star-shaped yellow flowers (max height and spread 1.2m/3.9ft) from mid-summer to mid-autumn, (July-October) followed by large fruit in September which flush pinkish red on ripening. It should be planted in full sun or partial shade in a moist, but well drained soil.
