An evergreen succulent, (height and spread 1.5m/4.9ft) which forms a stem-less rosette of thorny, fleshy green leaves. When mature it produces greenish-yellow flowers on tall, erect, then spreading panicles. It should be planted in full sun in a very well drained soil, with added grit as necessary. It will need protection from severe frosts.
